Time to say goodbye!

To my fellow classmates, teachers, and everyone who has followed my blog, It’s time to head back home and put all the knowledge I've gained here in Austin into practice. This isn't just about what I learned in school; it's also about the personal growth I experienced living in a new city, in a different country, with a new culture. In these six weeks, I feel I've evolved so much as a person. I'm more independent, much more comfortable speaking English, and I truly believe my proficiency has improved.

A day in Houston

Image
Last Saturday we had a trip to Houston to see two interesting places: the Houston Museum of Natural Science and NASA. First things first, the trip to Houston was a 3-hour trip by bus; it was a little tiring but totally worth it! In our way to Houston, I could notice some churches, water towers, small villages (although I don't know if it is appropriate to call them village or towns) and many cows! At the museum there were many fascinating exibihtions: the Dinossaurs; Ancient Egypt; Minerals and gem, and shells. I was really impressed by the jewelry exihbition.  After visiting the museum, we went to NASA - it was a huge place with incredible attractions. I got into a real space shuttle and saw a rocket really close. I loved this experience!

A night at the Arcade!

Image
Hello fellow bloggers! It's been some time since my first post. Apart from studying a lot, I’ve been doing many amazing things here in Austin: I’ve been to museums, parks, shopping centers, and most recently, an arcade. I’ve always been a bit fascinated by arcades since I was a child. I grew up watching many American movies, and these places always showed up in a lot of flicks. In my opinion, arcades are part of American pop culture. A friend of mine from Austin took me to this place called Cidercade by the Colorado River, and we spent the night there. It was an incredible experience. Now I know why arcades are so popular! One of my favorite games there was the 'pinball' game.

Austin First Week Impressions

Image
After living in Austin for a whole week, here are some first impressions I’ve had:  - it is a very hectic city; - lots of green areas with beautiful views;  - different kind of activities (bars, live music pubs, nightclubs, theaters, parks);  - very hot weather;  In general, it’s been a great experience living here. It is my first time abroad so I’m really overwhelmed and excited by all the new things I’ve been living right now. On the following posts I will show you some cool places I visited so far.
